World-Class Billfishing,

World-Class Hospitality and

World-Class Prize Money

are the essence of the
Mazatlán Billfish Classic. Our tournament format awards points for each verified billfish release. Minimum weight requirements of 225 pounds for marlin and 150 pounds for swordfish ensure that many more fish are released and available to fight again in future tournaments.

The entire cash prize pool in 2007 was awarded for released billfish. More than 290 billfish were released, and not a single billfish was brought to the scales. We’re extremely proud of our accumulative 99% release rate and are committed to maintaining this high level of conservation.

The entry fee for the 2008 Mazatlán Billfish Classic is $5,000 per team, with each team consisting of up to five anglers. We also offer Optional Daily Jackpots with entry fees of $250, $500, $1000 and $2000 per day that pay 85%. The NEW Optional Daily Gamefish Division Jackpot with an entry fee of $500 per day pays 85%. Our optional Super Jackpot entry fee is $7,500 and pays 90% for the largest billfish weighed during the event. All Optional Jackpots are on a winner-take-all basis.

The 2008 Mazatlán Billfish Tournament promises to be another exciting event highlighted by outstanding hospitality, service and the thrill of intense competition. Our tournament directors, staff, TV Crew and our Special Observers look forward to seeing you in Mazatlán on November 12.
